Reduta showcases the best of Czech Jazz and visiting international musicians. The club also has a theater on the premises where black light and pantomime performances are scheduled daily (including a daytime children's performance). Founded in 1957, from the beginning the club was a gathering place for intelligentsia in search of freedom of expression under the Communist regime. Later in the 1980s, under the supervision of the State, it welcomed international Jazz stars. In 1994, at the invitation of Czech President Vaclav Havel, the American President Bill Clinton played his saxophone in the Open Jam Session.
