Alongside the Vltava river with a view of Prague Castle, and just across from the National Theatre, the Cafe Slavia is a sure fire hit with tourists. But in the dark days of Communism, it was a favorite meeting place of dissident intellectuals like Vaclav Havel. Today the intellectuals are gone and the premises have been renovated, but you can still enjoy the view and the menu of traditional Czech cuisine and international dishes. Try the excellent goulash.
