Officially opened in 1783, the Theatre of the Estates is often called one of the most beautiful historical theatres in Europe. In 1787 it was the site of the world premier of Mozart's "Don Giovanni", conducted by Wolfgang Amadeus himself (the film Amadeus was also shot here). The theater's current repertoire includes Don Giovanni, the Magic Flute, Cosi fan Tutte, the Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) and many other operas.
